On May 16th, 2026, Ottawa’s Horticulture Building at Lansdowne Park once again filled with the energy of Runway for Hope — an evening where fashion, creativity, and community all seemed to move together in rhythm.

Long before the runway officially began, the atmosphere was already building. Designers moved carefully through final adjustments. Models rehearsed quiet confidence between conversations. Guests arrived dressed with intention, filling the venue with a sense of anticipation that carried throughout the night.

I had the opportunity to return as an event photographer after once again being invited by Temilade, founder and designer of House of Grace. What stood out most throughout the evening was not simply the fashion itself, but the experience surrounding it.

House of Grace and the Art of Presence

House of Grace brought a strong sense of elegance and cohesion to the runway. Each model carried their own presence while still contributing to a unified visual story throughout the collection.

One detail I especially appreciated while photographing the event was seeing models take their time on the runway — lingering slightly longer, embracing the moment, and allowing both the audience and photographers space to fully experience the presentation. Those pauses often create some of the strongest storytelling images of the evening.

Beyond the runway itself, some of the most meaningful moments happened in between:

  • Portraits against the custom Runway for Hope backdrop
  • Quiet interactions between models and designers
  • Group celebrations after the showcase
  • Natural candid moments throughout the venue

More Than a Fashion Show

Runway for Hope continues to feel like more than a runway showcase. Events like this create space for connection — between designers, models, photographers, entrepreneurs, and supporters all contributing to Ottawa’s growing creative community.

For me, documenting evenings like this is ultimately about preserving atmosphere as much as imagery. The movement, anticipation, hospitality, and shared excitement throughout the venue all become part of the story.

A sincere thank you again to Temilade and House of Grace for the invitation and trust in documenting another Runway for Hope experience.
