Some celebrations don’t need a crowd. They need attention.


When Bolu Onayemi reached out about a birthday photoshoot ahead of her 31st birthday on February 2, 2026, the intention was clear from the start: this wasn’t just about pretty pictures — it was about marking a moment.

Bolu turns 31

Bolu brought her creative eye to the space. In her own dining room, she built a soft pink backdrop, layered with warm, ferry-style lighting and accented with rosé-coloured balloons. It looked personal, thoughtful, and unmistakably her. From the camera, you’d never guess this was a living space — it felt like a curated studio.


I stepped in to fine-tune the environment: adjusting and arranging a few balloons, adding professional studio lighting, and collaborating with Bolu on posing that felt natural rather than forced. She wore a striking strapless white dress cut above the knee with long, flowing strings that moved beautifully with every step — elegant, confident, and full of motion.

To match the energy of the visuals, we turned up the atmosphere with music from my playlist and speaker. Over a full hour, we captured both photos and video, allowing Bolu to move, breathe, and express herself in real time.


The result wasn’t just a set of images — it was a record of how Bolu chose to step into 31: poised, creative, and fully present.


Moments like these are why I do what I do. When the environment, energy, and trust align, the photographs become more than pictures — they become proof of who someone is becoming.
